E-Prescription Adoption

Last updated 2026-05-03 · Source: digital.go.jp

How to read this dashboard

Use this page to separate e-prescription readiness, actual use, and medication-safety alerts. Facility adoption, pharmacy use, and alerts measure different stages of the system.

Who is counted
Eligible medical institutions, pharmacies, prescription dispensing results, and safety alerts generated by the e-prescription management service.
What the number means
Facility adoption measures readiness to issue or dispense e-prescriptions. The use rate measures dispensing results registered in the service. Alert counts measure safety checks triggered by actual medication data.
How to read it
Adoption can rise before use rises. Alert counts can rise because more prescriptions flow through the system, not necessarily because prescribing got riskier.
Why it matters
The system only delivers safety and workflow benefits when facilities are connected and prescriptions are actually registered.
